Hutt Valley DHB staff are now online helping to attract sonographers to live and work in New Zealand.
Our staff have been profiled on videos featuring their work at Hutt Hospital which will be shown to potential professional recruits in the United Kingdom.
Potential applicants are being directed to Kiwi Health Jobs pages where the video can be viewed. Anaesthetic technicians are also being recruited.
The move is part of a recruitment campaign launched by Kiwi Health Jobs (KHJ) and Immigration New Zealand. Stu Potter from Kiwi Health Jobs says that while there is still a strong a commitment to training and recruiting New Zealanders, the current vacancies in some DHBs means there is a need to supplement our own pool of talent.
Mr Potter says there has been a huge upswing in interest and registrations from British doctors, nurses, and allied health staff keen to emigrate and work here as a direct result of Brexit.
While the UK is the main focus currently, it is likely that the initiative will also target other markets such as Australia and Canada.
Kiwi Health jobs is keen to track the success of this initiative. If you recruit any anaesthetic technicians or sonographers over the next six-12 months, please track where they saw the vacancy and whether they applied via Kiwi Health Jobs.
Any reporting you can provide will help establish the effectiveness of the campaign in the future. Please send your feedback to info@kiwihealthjobs.com.
