Visitors to Hutt Hospital over the next few months will notice that the hospital’s Clock Tower Block is being treated to a new roof.

Operations Manager Facilities and Engineering (3DHB) Leon Clews says the tiled roof has deteriorated from age and will be replaced by Colorsteel roofing.

Mr Clews says that while the work will close six car parking spaces directly in front of the Clock Tower Block to allow contractors access, it will still be easy for patients and visitors to park at the hospital and get to the building.

“There is still plenty of car parking available and all our remaining car parks including the parking building are open. Visitors will also still be able to walk into the Clock Tower Block’s main front entrance”

Mr Clews advises people to take extra care when walking or driving in the affected areas of the hospital grounds while the work is taking place as traffic volume will be increased with contractor vehicles and machinery onsite.

The work is expected to be completed within five months. For further information see our Fact Sheet below.
