Welcome to Nursing at Capital Coast & Hutt Valley District
Workforce and Practice Development Unit (W&PDU)
Kia ora koutou, Capital Coast & Hutt Valley District has over 3000 registered and enrolled nurses working in a variety of roles across the hospital and community. Nurses work collaboratively with all other members of the health care team and in partnership with our communities to provide the best possible health care for the people using our health services.
The Chief Nursing Officer leads the Nursing and Midwifery Leadership team (NAML) and is supported by the Workforce & Practice Development Unit (W&PDU) to align professional, operational and strategic leadership accountabilities within nursing and midwifery programmes.
Across the District we offer support for student clinical learning experiences, new graduate nursing programmes, professional development opportunities, postgraduate studies, leadership programmes and support for advanced practice and advanced nursing roles to develop and grow our nursing workforce in order to provide the highest standard of nursing care for our community.
