The Breast Surgery study day is aimed at guiding and supporting nurses who care for patients who have undergone reconstructive Breast Surgery. It helps nurses and other health care professionals provide better education, support and care for their patients. The day includes sessions from expert speakers with many years of experience in the field.

The Burns Management study day is aimed at guiding and supporting nurses/allied health therapists who care for patients who have suffered burns. It helps nurses and other health care professionals provide better education, support and care for their patients. The day includes sessions from expert speakers with many years of experience in the field.

The aim of this study day is to expand the knowledge of registered nurses, enrolled nurses and health care assistants regarding the need for the close care and observation of patients.

Unfortunately, the Clinical Training Unit at Hutt Hospital is no longer able to provide Resuscitation Education (including the CPR course for PHOs) for healthcare workers outside of Health New Zealand/Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley.

This course will increase your confidence in delivering diabetes care. It is taught by a variety of speakers and co-ordinated by the Specialist Diabetes Nursing Service at Hutt Valley. It is relevant for nurses and allied health professionals working with people with diabetes – primary care, hospital or community based.

The Head and Neck Surgery study day is aimed at guiding and supporting nurses who care for patients who have undergone head and neck surgery. It helps nurses and other health care professionals provide better education, support and care for their patients. The day includes sessions from expert speakers with many years of experience in the field.

This 2 hour Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) workshop can support you with:
• PDRP basics: what you need to know about completing your portfolio.
• Writing your self-assessment against the NCNZ Competencies
• Using the ePortfolio
The Peer/portfolio workshops will refresh your knowledge of
• Writing senior/peer assessments for your colleagues
• Assessing portfolios

Plastic Surgery Fundamental study day is aimed at guiding and supporting nurses who are new to caring for Plastic Surgery patients. It helps nurses provide better education, support and care for their patients undergoing various Plastic Surgery procedures. The day includes sessions from expert speakers with many years of experience in the field.

At the completion of this course nurses will have an increased understanding of the important
components needed for successful preceptorship.

The course provides nurses with an improved understanding of how to care for adult patients with asthma and COPD. This includes assessment, differential diagnosis knowledge, treatment and management options, with a focus on secondary level care. It also assists nurses to provide education, support and care for their patients with Asthma and COPD.

To provide health professionals with an understanding of Acute stroke, it’s management and the importance of the allied health team’s involvement in the recovery of stroke patients.

Workplace assessor training is designed to train assessors who need to evaluate performance against standards in a variety of clinical and non-clinical settings. On completion participants will have increased understanding of all the factors that contribute to the successful completion of an assessment.
