In their last appeal, Countdown Kids donated a car to our pediatrics team and funds to refurbish some of our Child Development rooms. This year, the appeal aims to raise $1.1million for children’s hospitals and wards throughout New Zealand. The first of the donations were bags full of ready-to-heat food and coffee for parents/caregivers of young patients admitted to our hospital.
Children’s Health Service CNM Sagni Prasad said, "We appreciate the support from all the Countdowns in the Hutt Valley for children in their community. The staff and management of the Children’s Health Service would like to thank them for this."
This year we have applied funding to go to our Children’s Ward to help with a refurbishment and to use to purchase equipment for children with physical disabilities, sensory issues and staff costs to develop a Fasd (Foetal Alcohol) pathway and resources.
We would just like to again say a massive thank you to Countdown and the community who have been so very generous, thank you!
